Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

SRCA is Southern Response Class Action.

We are fighting for you to get what you are rightfully owed and with litigation funders on board, there is nothing for you to lose.

While we are in the process of forming the class we wanted to give policyholders some key indicators of delays. We think that these issues should resonate with many. If they do we encourage you to join:

  • you are struggling with communication and engagement from claims handlers;
  • you are still waiting to find out if you are a repair/rebuild;
  • you have had multiple Arrow assessments;
  • you have issues with the instructions given to Southern Response’s experts;
  • you struggling to get Southern Response to agree to consider external expert reports;
  • you have been told you are a rebuild then under ‘review’ you are now a repair;
  • you are going through a ‘full review’;
  • you are still without a resolution over 3 years after the first earthquake.

There will be further situations that are common to many policyholders. We will continue to update our blog and send you emails as we grow.

We encourage all those AMI policyholders in the Southern Response-EQC void to join SRCA. As the class takes shape we will be able to provide more information to this sub-group.

Absolutely, we actively encourage you to continue trying to progress your claim with Southern Response.This includes the continued use of your current advocate, lawyer or other advisors.

Membership in SRCA will not prevent you from settling your claim. If you resolve your claim while involved in SRCA we encourage you to speak with your advisor or the GCA team prior to signing any settlement agreement.

If you register your interest, you will be automatically sent one of these packs.

No. If you register your interest we will provide you with the Information Pack, but you will not be under any obligation to join SRCA.

GCA Lawyers will progress SRCA in accordance with the best interests of SRCA members only. We cannot predict whether there may be any 'flow on' benefits for other policyholders in terms of Southern Response's process. However, we will only be seeking damages for SRCA members. Put simply, if you are not in the group, we will not be able to help you.
